2008 Scholarship Information

This scholarship was established in memory of Phil Clancy by his family and friends to honor his love of engineering and dedication to FIRST©. Phil was an experimental engineer with General Motors Truck Group and a FIRST advisor for Truck Town Thunder. He passed away December 29, 2002 at age 50 after a brief battle with Leukemia. [more...]

One $2,000 award will be given.

 

Student Criteria:

  • High school senior who is currently participating on a Michigan FIRST© FRC team

  • Pursuing degree in engineering or related technology field.

  • Grade point average 2.0-3.5

  • Financial need

Please submit the following documents post marked by

  March 7, 2008:

  • A short statement of your plans after high school, what responsibilities you have on the team and what you expect to gain from participating in FIRST©. Two page max. Please avoid using identifying information.

  • A letter of recommendation from a team advisor. Again please avoid using identifying information.

  • Official school transcripts

  • Copy of parents 2007 W2 forms, 2007 completed taxes or 2006 taxes

    • please black-out all social security numbers

    • to more accurately show financial need please add any appropriate personal information that you wish: number of family members in college, recent loss of parent job, recent death of parent.

  • Personal information page stating name, address, telephone number, high school attending, team name and number. Please make this the LAST page of your packet.
